Dear APIA member,
At a resent APIA meeting there was discussion between members about the IAG Partstrader system regarding possible enhancements as well as other questions. It was asked if I would forward a list of questions and queries on our member’s behalf to Rob Taylor at IAG.
Below is that list of questions and queries and the answers received back from Rob Taylor (Project and Technical Research Manager, Vehicle Solutions Team) for IAG.

APIA Chairman
Q1 Members felt that if on a Partstrader request it had the assessor’s name shown then at a later stage, if required, the supplier could contact the assessor directly.
IAG A I will add this to the enhancement list as a supplier requirement, the issue we have here is that assessors may not be assigned to jobs when the repairer sends out the parts request, however when an assessor generates a request for quote there will be opportunity to provide the name.
Q2 When working on My Tasks (parts requests) page 2 or all pages other than page 1 and you use the back button nothing happens or the page expired comes up, sometimes you need to use the back button up to 8 times, then when it does work it always takes you back to page 1. This has been raised before but we believe the problem was not an easy fix and would be on the longer term repair list, any update??
IAG A Again I will flag this as an issue with the developers who will investigate the issue further.
Q3 We believe the % of requests in respect to age of vehicles on Partstrader are as follows approximately
10% non IAG
10% 1991 or older cars
60% 1992-1998
Less than 20% 1999 up
So the questions in relation to this % s are how does IAG handle the purchase of parts for 1999 or newer cars? or do they not have many cars of this age on their portfolio? or are they covered by a different policy that does not come under the Partstrader locating system?
IAG A All vehicles requiring parts are put through the Partstrader system regardless of age. Parts requests created for Band new vehicles, less than 24 months old are directed to new parts dealerships only. It is IAG NZ's policy to fit vehicles less than 24 months old with new parts when ever possible, the odd exception does arise dependent upon availability of the parts in question.
